Job summary

Teachers UK is seeking enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistants to support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 in Mansfield and the surrounding areas. We offer day-to-day supply, short-term assignments and long-term roles to fit your availability and career aspirations.

You will work with class teachers to help create an engaging and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive, with safeguarding at the forefront and access to CPD through our dedicated consultants.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people (school-based experience is desirable)
• Experience supporting pupils within a primary school setting is advantageous
• Understanding of the primary curriculum across EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A patient, positive and supportive approach to working with children
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and use your own initiative
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply through Teachers UK

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a one-to-one basis, in small groups and within whole-class activities
• Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom organisation
• Encourage pupil engagement, confidence and participation in learning
• Support positive behaviour management in line with school policies
• Help create an inclusive, safe and nurturing learning environment
• Adapt confidently to different classrooms, year groups and school settings
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff and wider school teams to support pupil progress

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils across Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage 1 (KS1), and Key Stage 2 (KS2), working alongside class teachers to help create an engaging, inclusive, and positive learning environment where every child can thrive.
