Ortus Recruitment Ltd is seeking a motivated Primary Teaching Assistant to join a partnered primary school in Wandsworth. This full-time, long-term role offers immediate start and the chance to support pupils across EYFS/KS1/KS2, helping with literacy, numeracy and overall development.

Applicants should bring energy, a passion for education and be prepared to work closely with teachers and staff to create a positive classroom environment. DBS check is required or in process.

Formación

• Experience working with children in school, nursery or childcare.
• Experience in tutoring or mentoring is welcome.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for the check.

• Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and everyday classroom activities.

• Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and address gaps.
• Helping children develop literacy and numeracy skills, including reading, phonics and maths.
• Encouraging positive behaviour, good learning habits and active participation.
• Providing additional support to pupils with SEND or requiring different approaches to learning.
• Preparing materials, organising classroom resources and helping lessons run smoothly.
• Creating a welcoming atmosphere where children feel supported and encouraged to do their best.

• Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery or childcare environment.
• Experience in tutoring, mentoring, youth work or similar roles.

• The initiative to support pupils and work collaboratively with the class teacher.
• An interest in child development, education and helping young people achieve their potential.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for the required check.
