Job summary

GSL Education is seeking a compassionate Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Medway school. In this role you will support the class teacher across the primary curriculum and help pupils develop confidence, literacy, and numeracy.

You will work 1:1 or in small groups, monitor progress, and uphold safeguarding standards. The position is full-time, long-term supply in Medway, Kent, with competitive pay and ongoing professional development.

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons across the primary curriculum
• Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to support learning in literacy, numeracy, and social development
• Observing and tracking student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team
• Upholding professional standards and adhering to safeguarding and child protection policies

To be considered for this role, you should:

• Have previous experience working as a Primary Teaching Assistant or in a similar role supporting young people
• Show a genuine passion for helping children succeed academically and personally
• Possess strong communication skills and a dependable, professional approach
• Have the right to work in the UK
• Meet GSL's safer recruitment requirements
• Hold an Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
