Whether you’ve worked in education before or you’re starting out and ready to learn – we’d love to hear from you.

We’re seeking motivated, compassionate and dynamic Teaching Assistants to join our supportive teams in a range of Cardiff primary schools. You’ll be working closely with class teachers to support the academic, emotional and social development of pupils across Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2 (EYFS to Year 6).

This is a versatile and rewarding role with opportunities to shine whether you love messy play in Nursery, guided reading in Year 2, or helping a Year 5 pupil master their long division.

Your responsibilities could include:

Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups, including those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), EAL, or SEMH

️ Assisting with classroom preparation, displays, and creative learning activities

Helping pupils access the curriculum in a way that suits their needs and abilities

Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers

Using your initiative to adapt support based on pupils’ individual progress and needs

Leading fun and engaging interventions – whether phonics, numeracy games or mindfulness sessions

Supporting behaviour management with patience, consistency and understanding

Assisting with monitoring and reporting on pupil progress and wellbeing

We welcome a range of backgrounds and experiences. Whether you’ve worked in schools before, supported children in another setting, or you’re looking to kickstart a career in education – we value people who are:

Enthusiastic, kind and patient
Reliable, resilient and ready to learn
Flexible and able to adapt to the changing needs of a classroom
Passionate about inclusion and supporting every child to thrive
Happy to work independently and as part of a team

Bonus points if you have:

Experience working with children with ALN, ASD, ADHD or SEMH

Basic Welsh language skills (though not essential!)

Creativity – we love puppets, music, drama, and cardboard castles!

What We Offer:

A chance to make a genuine difference in the lives of young learners

Supportive, friendly school communities across Cardiff

Opportunities for ongoing training and development

A variety of roles to match your skills and interests (from classroom support to ALN-focused roles)

Flexibility to suit your schedule – term time only, job shares, and part-time available

A workplace where no two days are ever the same!
