Job summary

Q3 Academy Great Barr in Sandwell is seeking an invigilator to support the examination process across JCQ-guided assessments. The role focuses on maintaining exam integrity, room setup, and smooth operation during exam sessions.

No prior invigilation experience is required as full training is provided. You will work within a supportive team, have strong organisational and communication skills, and help ensure fair and confidential handling of exam materials.

Qualifications

• Experience of invigilation is not required; training provided.
• Must be educated to a good standard of numeracy and literacy.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct examinations in line with JCQ and academy regulations.
• Uphold integrity and security of examination materials.
• Keep exam papers and materials confidential before, during and after exams.
• Set up examination rooms according to requirements.
• Instruct candidates on finishing and collecting scripts.
• Dismiss candidates from the examination room.
• Maintain effective communication and strong interpersonal skills.
• Work well as part of a team.
• Demonstrate strong organisational skills.
• Support staff during examinations and training.
• Ensure smooth operation of examinations within the academy.

Key responsibilities

• To conduct examinations in accordance with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ), awarding body and Q3 Academy Great Barr regulations and instructions;
• To have a key role in upholding the integrity and security of the examination/assessments
• Keep confidential exam question papers and materials secure before, during and after examinations
• Ensure examination rooms are set up according to the requirements
• Instruct candidates in finishing their examinations and collect scripts and materials
• Dismiss candidates from the examination room
• Educated to a good standard of education, in numeracy and literacy
• Experience of invigilation is not required as training in the role and duties of an invigilator will be provided
• Have effective communication skills and good interpersonal skills
• Work well as part of a team
• Strong Organisational Skills
