Job summary

The Mercian Trust is seeking an exam invigilator for Q3 Academy Great Barr in Birmingham. The role involves ensuring exam integrity, security of materials, and proper room setup in line with JCQ and school regulations.

You will support candidates, manage timing, collect scripts, and assist in maintaining a calm examination environment. Training is provided, with opportunities to contribute to a positive learning atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Educated to a good standard of education with solid numeracy and literacy.
• Experience in invigilation not required; training provided.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and stay organised.

Responsibilities

• Conduct examinations in accordance with JCQ, awarding body and school regulations.

• Keep papers securely and manage examination room set-up.

Main Duties

• To conduct examinations in accordance with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ), awarding body and Q3 Academy Great Barr regulations and instructions;
• To have a key role in upholding the integrity and security of the examination/assessments
• Keep confidential exam question papers and materials secure before, during and after examinations
• Ensure examination rooms are set up according to the requirements
• Instruct candidates in finishing their examinations and collect scripts and materials
• Dismiss candidates from the examination room

Qualifications and Skills

• Educated to a good standard of education, in numeracy and literacy
• Experience of invigilation is not required as training in the role and duties of an invigilator will be provided
• Have effective communication skills and good interpersonal skills
• Work well as part of a team
• Strong Organisational Skills
