Job summary

UCM Education is seeking a passionate Year 4 Teacher to join a friendly primary school in Maidstone, Kent. This full-time role involves teaching a Year 4 class, delivering engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum, and supporting pupils in Lower Key Stage 2.

The successful candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have recent UK primary teaching experience, preferably in Key Stage 2.

Qualifications

• Must hold QTS and be eligible to teach in a UK primary school.
• Experience teaching in a UK primary school, ideally KS2.
• Excellent subject knowledge and ability to plan engaging, age-appropriate lessons.
• Strong behavioural management and ability to support a range of learners.

Responsibilities

• Teach a Year 4 class with planning, marking and assessment responsibilities.
• Deliver lessons aligned with the National Curriculum and KS2 expectations.
• Attend meetings and parents' evenings; communicate progress to families.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff.

Job description

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Year 4 Teacher to join a friendly and welcoming primary school in Maidstone, Kent.

This is a full‑time role teaching a Year 4 class, supporting pupils through Lower Key Stage 2 with engaging lessons and high‑quality teaching.

You will be:

• Teaching a Year 4 class
• Planning, preparing and delivering engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum
• Assessing pupil progress and implementing effective interventions
• Encouraging pupils to become independent, resilient and confident learners
• Building positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
• Contributing to the wider life of the school and its community

The successful candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have recent experience teaching within a UK primary school, ideally within Key Stage 2. Strong curriculum knowledge, effective classroom management skills and a commitment to high standards of teaching and learning are essential.

The role includes full teaching responsibilities, including planning, marking, assessment, attending meetings and parents' evenings.

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is required, or a willingness to obtain one.
