Primary Teacher (KS1 or Lower KS2) with MFL Lead Responsibility

Location: Southwark, London
Start Date: September

Salary: M1 - UPS3 with TLR

The Role: We are looking for a passionate and motivated Primary Teacher to join our team, teaching KS1 or lower KS2. In addition to your teaching responsibilities, you will take on the role of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Lead, enhancing the MFL curriculum across the school as well as dealing with International Links. The school teaches Mandarin but the successful applicant doesn't need to speak or teach Mandarin, you would just be responsible for managing the Mandarin teachers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in accordance with the National Curriculum for KS1 or lower KS2.
  • Create a positive and stimulating classroom environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential.
  • Lead and develop the MFL curriculum, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning in languages.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on the progress of pupils, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support the well-being and academic progress of all students.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant teaching experience in KS1 or lower KS2.
  • A strong passion for teaching and promoting language learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and the ability to inspire and motivate all pupils.
  • Experience in curriculum development or a willingness to undertake professional development in this area.
