An established academy is seeking a passionate Head of Modern Foreign Languages to lead a dynamic team. This role involves teaching French and Spanish, developing innovative lessons, and fostering a love for languages among students. At St Augustine Academy, we are committed to developing curious minds and fostering a love for learning. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Head of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) to lead and inspire our dedicated MFL team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic language specialist who is passionate about teaching and learning, and who can drive forward an ambitious vision for language education across the academy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the MFL department with strategic direction, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
• Teach both French and Spanish up to and including GCSE level.
• Develop and deliver high-quality MFL lessons that engage and motivate students.
• Use a range of innovative teaching strategies to promote language acquisition and cultural awareness.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress, using data to inform teaching and support achievement.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active language learning.
• Collaborate with staff across the academy to embed languages into the wider curriculum and promote internationalism.

DBS Checks
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Amendment Order 1986 and, as such, it will be necessary for a Submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
