Job summary

Smart Education are seeking Primary Teachers to join our flexible positions across Lichfield and surrounding areas. Roles vary from EYFS to KS2, with options for day-to-day, short-term or longer-term assignments. You will need QTS and a in-depth knowledge of the UK Primary Curriculum.

We offer daily rates between £140 and £253, with full-time, part-time and flexible work available. Choose teaching that fits your life while gaining experience in different schools and year groups.

Qualifications

• QTS is required to teach in UK primary schools.
• Minimum of 6 months UK classroom teaching experience.
• Solid knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum.
• Experience in EYFS, KS1 or KS2 is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for a class within EYFS, KS1 or KS2.
• Deliver engaging lessons across the curriculum.
• Use existing planning to ensure continuity of learning.
• Plan sequences of lessons during longer-term assignments.
• Support pupils with diverse needs and SEND.
• Collaborate with Teaching Assistants to maximise classroom support.

What will you be doing?

• Taking responsibility for a class within EYFS, KS1 or KS2
• Delivering creative and engaging lessons across the curriculum
• Picking up existing planning and ensuring continuity of learning
• Planning sequences of lessons during longer-term assignments
• Adjusting activities so that all pupils can access and enjoy their learning
• Providing appropriate challenge and support for different abilities
• Creating clear expectations and positive classroom routines
• Assessing learning and identifying next steps
• Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
• Working closely with Teaching Assistants to maximise classroom support
• Encouraging children to become confident and independent learners
• Ensuring safeguarding and pupil welfare remain at the heart of your practice

What are we looking for?

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• A minimum of 6 months’ UK classroom teaching experience
• Secure knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
• Experience within EYFS, Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2
• The ability to quickly establish yourself within a new classroom
• Confident and consistent behaviour management
• Ability to adapt teaching for different abilities and learning needs
• A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• References covering your most recent 24 months
• Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service or willingness to have one processed
