Job summary

Smart Education in Burton-on-Trent is seeking a Primary Teacher for flexible, long-term or day-to-day roles. You will inspire learners and gain experience across school settings with opportunities to suit availability and career goals.

The role covers EYFS to KS2 with plans, assessments and safeguarding responsibilities. Competitive daily pay and flexible start dates from October 2026 are offered, with full-time, part-time and flexible options.

Qualifications

  • QTS is essential.
  • At least 6 months UK classroom teaching experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum.
  • Confident teaching within EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to differentiate teaching for a range of abilities and needs.
  • Positive, adaptable and professional approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to provide references covering your most recent 24 months.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to have one processed.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Primary National Curriculum.
  • Teach across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 depending on your experience.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet individual learning needs.
  • Assess, monitor and support pupil progress.
  • Maintain high expectations for learning and behaviour.
  • Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
  • Follow existing lesson plans and classroom routines for short-term cover.
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and other school staff.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Uphold safeguarding procedures at all times.

The Role

As a Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for creating an engaging, inclusive and positive learning environment where pupils are encouraged to achieve their potential. Your duties may include:
