Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is recruiting a Primary Teacher for a Year 6 class in Basford, Nottingham (NG6). This full‑time, long‑term position runs January 2027 to July 2027, five days per week, on-site. You will plan, deliver and assess lessons, and prepare pupils for KS2 SATs.

The ideal candidate holds QTS, with KS2/Year 6 experience and a strong understanding of the Primary National Curriculum. Excellent classroom management and a positive, adaptable approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status / QTS (ECTs are welcome to apply)
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 2 / KS2, ideally Year 6
• Strong knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum and Year 6 expectations
• Confidence preparing pupils for KS2 SATs and end of Key Stage assessments
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
• A positive, adaptable and enthusiastic approach to teaching

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons for Year 6 students
• Assess pupil progress and provide timely feedback

• Maintain high standards of teaching and learning in all lessons

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream Primary School based in Basford, Nottingham, NG6, who are looking to appoint a dedicated Primary Teacher. The school is seeking a confident and enthusiastic individual with strong curriculum knowledge who can deliver high-quality teaching and create a positive learning environment for pupils.

The school is looking to take on a Primary Teacher on a full‑time, long‑term basis from January 2027 until July 2027, working 5 days per week within a Year 6 classroom. The successful Primary Teacher will take on full teaching responsibilities, including planning and delivering lessons, assessing pupil progress, preparing pupils for their KS2 SATs and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.

The successful Primary Teacher will have:
