Job Title: Primary Teacher
Location: Burnley Area
Position: Full-time, Long-term
Start date: April 2025
Salary: Dependent on Skills and Experience

Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Primary Teacher to join an Alternative Provision in the Burnley area. This full-time, long-term position offers a unique chance to work with students who may face various barriers to learning. The successful candidate will have a passion for making a positive impact in the lives of young learners, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Delivering high-quality lessons to primary-aged children in an alternative provision setting.
  2. Identifying and addressing individual learning needs to ensure each child has the support they need to succeed.
  3. Creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
  4. Collaborating with colleagues and external agencies to remove barriers to learning.
  5. Promoting positive behaviour and supporting students' social and emotional development.
  6. Monitoring and assessing students' progress, adapting teaching strategies as required.

Key Requirements:

  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  2. Passion for working with children with additional learning needs or challenging behaviour.
  3. Strong understanding of how to remove barriers to learning and promote inclusivity.
  4. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a range of professionals.
  5. Experience working in a primary school or similar setting, preferably within alternative provisions.
  6. A commitment to making a positive difference in students' lives.

Desirable:

  1. Experience working with children who have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
  2. Knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with additional learning needs (SEND).
