Qualified Primary Teacher required for Alternative primary provision

Full-time - long-term ongoing

Teaching a mixture of Year 4 to Year 6 classes, class size 4-6 pupils

Location: Wakefield

We are recruiting for a qualified Teacher with experience teaching pupils with behaviour difficulties, social, emotional and mental health dysregulation to start ASAP. The small alternative provision is dedicated to vulnerable children presenting with emotional dysregulation, social difficulties, ADHD, and mild Autism, located in the Wakefield area. Experience with behaviour management, strong classroom management skills, and the ability to engage pupils are highly desirable for this role. This position may suit qualified teachers wanting to pursue a career in teaching SEND students and to further their knowledge and understanding. Job description & Job Specification:

  1. Must have Qualified Teacher Status with UK teaching experience.
  2. BA Hons degree in Education or equivalent.
  3. Consideration for ETCs, but must have strong knowledge and experience teaching SEN students.
  4. Solid knowledge and experience working with children presenting with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, neurodivergence, autism spectrum disorder, attachment disorder, ADHD, and challenging behaviour.
  5. Strong behaviour management skills.
  6. Experience teaching across the primary curriculum.
  7. Ability to differentiate teaching and learning, demonstrating student progression.
  8. Team Teach training is preferred; training can be provided if not already obtained.
  9. Adopt a nurturing approach and demonstrate accountability aligned with the school's ethos.
  10. Enhanced DBS check via subscription service.
