Job summary

Whitehill Primary School in Stockport is seeking a Teaching Assistant / Cover Supervisor to join our dedicated team. You will provide high-quality classroom support and may lead learning across the school when teachers are absent.

The role spans from Nursery to Year 6, supporting pupils with a range of learning, social, emotional and behavioural needs while promoting inclusion and a positive learning culture.

• Experience working with primary-aged children.
• Ability to lead a class and manage behaviour effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality classroom support with teachers across the school.
• Supervise classes during short-term absence and deliver pre-planned activities.
• Work across Nursery to Year 6.
• Support pupils with learning, social, emotional and behavioural needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
• Deliver targeted interventions to support pupil progress.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families and staff.
• Create an inclusive environment where all pupils can succeed.
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
