Sense Education Limited in Carlisle is seeking two Primary SEND Teaching Assistants to support a pupil with an EHCP on a 1:1 basis and within class. You will work with KS1 or KS2 and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement learning interventions.

You will provide one-on-one or small group support, offer emotional and pastoral backing, track progress with teachers and parents, and help develop strategies to enhance student learning and wellbeing.

Primary SEND Teaching Assistant

Sense Education have 2 new exciting Primary SEND Teaching Assistant roles, to work in a Primary School in Carlisle. We are looking for 2 supportive TAs to support young people with EHCPs.

This role will be to support a pupil in mainstream who have EHCP’s on a 1:1 basis and also within class. You will be working with KS1 or KS2 andworjing with a multidisciplinary team to implement learning interventions.

• Previous experience working with children or young people.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Experience of working with young people in either EYFS, KS1 or KS2
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varied needs of students.
• A commitment to promoting equal opportunities and safeguarding.

Qualifications & Requirements

• A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (NVQ, CACHE, Degree, or equivalent)
• Experience supporting children
• Passionate working with young children with SEND

Location – Carlisle

Role Type:Full time / Part time/ Temp – Perm

Pay Rate:£14.60 – £16.90 per hour

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
