Job summary

Polaris Education - Ormston School in Headingley, Leeds, invites applications for a Primary SEND Teacher. You will deliver the primary curriculum to small groups with a Teaching Assistant, planning, preparing and delivering tailored lessons for pupils with SEND.

The role requires QTS, a relevant degree and experience with primary-age pupils, along with knowledge of the National Curriculum and safeguarding protocols.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
• A relevant degree is essential.
• Successful classroom teaching experience.
• Experience teaching primary-age pupils.
• Knowledge of the National Curriculum.
• Knowledge of safeguarding practices and protocols.
• Good ICT skills and using technology to support learning.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach well-structured lessons to assigned classes, following the school's plans, curriculum and schemes of work.
• Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs and progress of pupils, using assessment effectively.
• Adapt teaching to meet the strengths and needs of pupils.
• Set high standards that inspire pupils and promote positive progress.
• Demonstrate secure subject and curriculum knowledge and familiarity with the National Curriculum at primary and secondary levels.
• Adapt learning to meet SEND needs and build strong pupil relationships.
