Job summary

Polaris Education - Ormston School in Leeds seeks a Primary SEND Teacher to deliver the primary curriculum to small classes with a teaching assistant support. The successful candidate will plan, deliver and assess lessons tailored to pupils with SEND, while upholding high expectations and safeguarding standards.

Qualifications

• QTS and a relevant degree are required.
• Experience teaching primary-age pupils is essential.
• Experience with SEND and personalised learning approaches.
• Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and safeguarding protocols.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver well-structured lessons to small classes with a Teaching Assistant support.
• Assess, monitor and report pupil progress and use data to inform teaching.
• Adapt teaching to meet diverse SEND needs and promote high standards.
• Set high expectations to motivate and challenge pupils.
• Demonstrate secure subject and curriculum knowledge across primary and SEND contexts.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and ensure safeguarding and wellbeing.
