Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and resilient Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist school supporting primary-aged pupils with a range of additional needs in Shirebrook. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive setting, helping children overcome barriers to learning and develop independence.

You will work closely with the class teacher to provide 1:1 and small-group support, assist pupils with autism, learning difficulties and communication

• Has prior experience working with children, ideally in primary or SEN settings.

Primary SEN Teaching Assistant

Pay: 95- 120 per day, depending on experience and school budget

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and resilient Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist school supporting primary-aged pupils with a range of additional needs.

The Role

As a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to provide tailored support for pupils with complex special educational needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to primary-aged pupils.
• Supporting children with a range of needs, including autism, learning difficulties and communication needs.
• Helping deliver engaging, accessible and practical learning activities.
• Supporting pupils' social, emotional and communication development.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive relationships.
• Supporting personal care and hygiene routines where required.
• Helping to create a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working with children, ideally within a primary or SEN setting.
• Has a patient, nurturing and adaptable approach.
• Is confident supporting pupils with additional learning and communication needs.
• Can build positive relationships with children and colleagues.
• Is resilient, proactive and passionate about making a difference.
• Is happy to support personal care and other individual needs where required.
• Is available to work full-time, Monday to Friday.

Experience in a specialist SEN school would be particularly beneficial, although candidates with transferable experience supporting children with additional needs are encouraged to apply.

Pay and Benefits

• 95- 120 per day, depending on experience and the school's budget.

Please note: The higher end of the pay scale is reserved for candidates with solid, relevant experience who are available to work full-time. The final rate offered will also be dependent on the school's budget.
