Job summary

Reed Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the DN7 area on a full-time basis, starting ASAP.

You will support four KS2 pupils, helping them access learning and thrive in the classroom environment, with focus on two academic and two complex behavioural needs cases.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children in an educational setting.
• Confident supporting pupils with additional needs and challenging behaviours.
• Experience using de-escalation techniques effectively.
• Ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and gain their trust.
• Patient, resilient, and adaptable; works well in a school team.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to pupils across Key Stage 2, including four pupils in this assignment.
• Support 2 pupils requiring academic assistance to engage with learning and progress.
• Support 2 pupils with complex behavioural needs with consistent guidance and positive behaviour management.

Teaching Assistant - Primary School

• DN7 Area


• £93 per day


• Full-Time 8:30am - 3:30pm


• Start Date: ASAP

Reed Education are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the DN7 area on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible.

This rewarding role will involve providing support to four pupils across Key Stage 2, helping them to access learning and thrive within the classroom environment.

The Role

You will be supporting:

• 2 pupils requiring academic support to help them engage with learning and make progress.


• 2 pupils with complex behavioural needs, including one pupil with undiagnosed ASD, requiring consistent support, understanding, and positive behaviour management strategies.

A structured timetable will be in place to ensure pupils receive the appropriate support throughout the school day.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children within an educational setting.


• Is confident supporting pupils with additional needs and challenging behaviours.


• Has experience using de-escalation techniques effectively.


• Can build strong, positive relationships with pupils and gain their trust.


• Is patient, resilient, and adaptable.


• Works well as part of a wider school team.
