Job summary

Term Time Teachers Ltd is seeking a Primary Special Needs Teacher in Tunbridge Wells to support primary-aged pupils with a range of SEN. This full-time role is temporary to permanent, start ASAP, with daily pay £130-£250.

You will create a nurturing, structured environment, adapt lessons, and work with teaching assistants, parents, carers and external specialists to deliver personalised learning.

Qualified teachers with QTS and SEN experience are encouraged to apply; DBS checks required.

Qualifications

• QTS required to teach in primary SEND settings.
• Experience with primary-aged children in SEN.
• Familiar with IEPs and personalised learning approaches.
• DBS check completed or willing to apply.

Responsibilities

• Create a stimulating, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation, curiosity, and independence.
• Assess, monitor, and record pupils' progress, using observations and assessment information to inform future planning.
• Provide personalised support to help pupils develop academically, socially, emotionally, and communicatively.
• Use positive reinforcement and appropriate teaching strategies to encourage engagement, confidence, and progress.
• Classroom Management and Inclusion
• Establish clear routines and expectations to create a calm, safe, and purposeful learning environment.
• Promote inclusion and ensure all pupils feel valued.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants to provide effective individual and small-group support.
• Implement appropriate strategies to support pupils' behaviour, emotional needs, and individual learning plans.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and other professionals involved in their education.
