Job Details

Job Title: Primary SEN Teacher

Location: Underley Garden School, Kirkby Lonsdale, LA6 2DZ

Salary: Up to GBP41,000.00 per annum depending on experience (not pro rata)

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

About the Role

As a Primary SEND Teacher, you will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises pupils' achievement and ability to develop.

The ideal candidate will be calm, engaging, resilient, and have an innovative teaching style, motivated by helping every pupil reach their potential.

Essential Requirements
  • Degree in relevant subject
  • PGCE or equivalent
  • UK QTS (Fully qualified teachers only - not suitable for ECTs)
  • Experience teaching across a wide range of learners from early years through primary
  • Experience teaching core Maths and English
  • Ability to support delivery of other curriculum areas
Skills & Knowledge
  • Experience teaching students from age 7, including EYFS and KS2 levels
  • Strong core subject knowledge
  • Planning and delivering lessons effectively
  • Evidencing student work and monitoring progress
  • Creative and confident teaching approach
Additional Duties
  • Managing student timetables and needs
  • Drafting and updating Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)
  • Participating in EHCP reviews and providing progress reports
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the head of school
