Job summary

TeacherActive is working with primary schools across Wakefield and Bradford to recruit a Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant. The role involves supporting pupils with SEMH needs in the classroom and helping to manage challenging behaviour with a patient, positive approach.

You will work alongside teachers and support staff to encourage engagement with learning and to support pupils’ social, emotional and academic development. Short-term and long-term opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting primary pupils, ideally with SEMH or additional needs.
• Experience managing challenging behaviour in an education setting.
• Patient, resilient and supportive approach to learners.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils within the classroom and assist with SEMH needs.
• Help manage behaviour positively and work alongside teachers and support staff to encourage engagement with learning.
