Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Winchester is seeking a Primary Behaviour Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school on a temp-to-perm basis. The role is full-time and paid at £95 per day, with a September or October 2026 start date.

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with behavioural and SEMH needs, delivering 1:1 and small group support, and helping create an inclusive, supportive learning environment while building strong

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEMH children, ideally in a school or support setting.
• Patient, calm and resilient under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passionate about supporting children's development and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs.
• Implement behaviour management strategies and support plans.
• Help pupils develop social and emotional skills.
• Support teachers in maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
