Job summary

Randstad Education in Bristol is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school community starting in September 2026. This role suits experienced practitioners, aspiring educators, or those with youth work backgrounds seeking to positively impact pupil development.

You will collaborate with teaching staff on literacy and numeracy, deliver small group and 1:1 interventions, and help prepare learning resources.

Qualifications

• Prior experience supporting children, youth groups, or vulnerable individuals in either a voluntary or professional capacity.
• Strong communication skills, empathy, and a high level of professional energy.
• Demonstrated flexibility in addressing diverse learning styles and emotional needs.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or readiness to initiate the application).
• Full eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teaching staff to deliver structured literacy and numeracy activities.
• Facilitate targeted intervention through small group sessions and 1:1 support for pupils requiring additional guidance.
• Promote an inclusive classroom culture by building encouraging, professional relationships with students.
• Assist in the preparation of learning resources and classroom environments to ensure readiness for the school day.
