Job summary

Aspire People in Leicester is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support primary schools from September 2026, with full-time or part-time options during school hours 8:30am–3:30pm. Successful applicants will help teachers deliver engaging lessons and support pupils' learning across early years and KS1/KS2.

You must have UK primary school experience, a caring attitude, strong communication and teamwork, and be eligible to work in the UK with an enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a UK primary school or nursery (essential).
• A positive, proactive and caring attitude.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Availability to work school hours (8:30am-3:30pm).
• The right to work in the UK.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons across the primary age range.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and encourage positive engagement.
• Prepare classroom resources and assist with daily classroom activities.
• Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
