Job summary

Vision for Education are currently recruiting a Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Colchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and helping them reach their full potential.

As a Teaching Assistant you will work with teachers to support pupils across the classroom, delivering engaging activities and providing one-to-one and small-group support where required.

The Role

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support pupils across the classroom and help create a positive, engaging learning environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils with their learning and development
• Working alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging activities
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support where required
• Helping pupils stay focused and engaged with their learning
• Supporting children with their social and emotional development
• Assisting with classroom preparation and organisation
• Encouraging positive behaviour and following the school's behaviour policies
• Helping to create a safe, inclusive and welcoming classroom environment

Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children or young people
• Is enthusiastic, reliable and approachable
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Is confident supporting children with different learning needs
• Is passionate about education and helping children succeed
• Can work effectively as part of a team
• Holds, or is willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS

Previous experience working in a school or education setting is desirable, but not essential.
