Job summary

SupplyGo are seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to support learning in primary schools across Matlock, Belper and the wider Derbyshire area.

You will work with individuals, small groups or whole classes, provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEND, help with reading, writing, maths and phonics, and promote a calm, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in a school or similar setting.
  • An up-to-date enhanced DBS (Update Service) or willingness to obtain.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy, with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across KS1 and KS2.
  • Work with individuals, small groups or whole classes under supervision.
  • Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEND.
  • Help pupils with reading, writing, maths and phonics.
  • Promote positive behaviour and an inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with classroom organisation, resources and displays.
  • Support pupils' personal care, wellbeing and social development where required.
  • Supervise playtimes, lunchtimes and school trips where applicable.

Job description

Are you patient, enthusiastic and passionate about helping children learn? SupplyGo are looking for dedicated Teaching Assistants to work in primary schools across Matlock, Belper and the wider Derbyshire area.,

  • Supporting teachers in delivering engaging lessons across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
  • Working with individuals, small groups or whole classes under the direction of the class teacher
  • Providing 1:1 support for pupils with SEND, including children with additional or complex needs
  • Helping pupils with reading, writing, maths and phonics
  • Supporting positive behaviour and promoting a calm, inclusive learning environment
  • Assisting with classroom organisation, resources and displays
  • Supporting pupils' personal care, wellbeing and social development where required
  • Helping supervise playtimes, lunchtimes and school trips (where applicable), If you don't already have an up-to-date enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will support you through the process.
    Experience of working with children, either in a school or in a similar setting (voluntary experience considered)
  • A warm, reliable and flexible approach
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • The right to work in the UK
Desirable (but not essential):
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Experience supporting children with SEND, autism, ADHD or social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum and phonics schemes
  • Behaviour management training (e.g. Team Teach)
  • Paediatric first aid certificate
  • Your own transport, as some schools in rural areas are difficult to reach by public transport
