Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils in Primary Schools across Blackpool and Fylde Coast. Roles include 1:1 and small group support to learners with diverse needs, with opportunities for long-term placements.

Ideal candidates are patient, adaptable and nurturing, with strong communication and a genuine passion for SEND. Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people.
  • Enhanced DBS on update service or willing to obtain one.
  • Ability to work across individual and small group settings.

Start Date: After October Half-Term 2026

Looking for a rewarding SEN role where you can genuinely make a difference every day?

Teaching Personnel is recruiting dedicated, compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils in Primary Schools across Blackpool, Wyre and the Fylde Coast from after the October half-term break.

We are working with a number of supportive and inclusive schools that require SEN support staff to provide both classroom and 1:1 support for children with a range of additional needs. These roles offer an excellent opportunity to build meaningful relationships with pupils and help them overcome barriers to learning. There are long-term and short-term roles available.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you may be supporting pupils with:
  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC/ASD)
  • ADHD
  • SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health Needs)
  • Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
  • Global Development Delay
  • Sensory Processing Difficulties
  • Emotional Regulation Needs
  • Challenging Behaviour
  • EHCP Requirements
Responsibilities may include:
  • Delivering 1:1 support and small group interventions
  • Supporting pupils academically, socially and emotionally
  • Implementing strategies outlined in EHCPs
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with children
  • Working closely with Teachers, SENDCOs and external professionals
  • Supporting pupils to access learning and reach their full potential

The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Have experience working with children or young people

  • Possess strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one

Salary:£90 - £100 per day (depending on experience)
