Job summary

Sheffield Primary School is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join from September in a full-time, long-term role in Sheffield. You will support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, working 1:1 and in small groups to help remove barriers to learning.

The ideal candidate will assist children with SEND, deliver engaging activities alongside the teacher and foster confidence, independence and positive behaviour in a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a UK primary school or similar setting.
• DBS on update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Two professional references from the last two years.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.
• Work 1:1 with pupils and in small intervention groups.
• Support children with SEND needs as required.
• Help deliver engaging learning activities alongside the teacher.
• Encourage confidence, independence and social development.
• Promote positive behaviour in an inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback.
