Job summary

Step Teachers is recruiting for a Primary School Teacher (ECT) to join a long-term supply placement across Greater London starting September 2026. You will gain valuable experience with consistent support in a varied primary setting.

Ideal candidates are Early Career Teachers with QTS or qualifying by September 2026, capable of delivering engaging lessons, planning adaptively, and supporting pupil progress and welfare within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• QTS or eligible to qualify as ECT by September 2026.
• Experience delivering the primary curriculum.
• Strong behaviour management and safeguarding understanding.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Excellent organisation and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons in line with the primary curriculum.
• Plan, prepare, and adapt learning activities to meet the needs of all pupils.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
• Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
• Use effective behaviour management strategies to maintain high expectations.
• Assess and record pupil progress in line with school requirements.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, mentors, and colleagues.
• Contribute positively to wider school life during the long-term placement.
