Job summary

Step Teachers is recruiting a Primary School Teacher (ECT) for full-time, long-term supply starting September 2026. You will gain valuable experience across diverse primary settings, delivering engaging lessons and supporting pupil progress.

Ideal candidates hold QTS or be eligible as an ECT by Sep 2026, with a strong understanding of the primary curriculum, excellent organisation, and a commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare. Weekly PAYE pays and exclusive teacher benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or due to qualify as an ECT by September 2026.
• Early Career Teacher seeking long-term supply experience in primary education.
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Confident, reflective and eager to develop practice.

• Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons aligned to the primary curriculum.
• Plan, prepare and adapt activities to meet all pupils' needs.
• Create a positive, inclusive, well-managed classroom environment.
• Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.
• Use effective behaviour management to maintain high standards.
• Assess and record pupil progress per school requirements.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, mentors and colleagues.
• Contribute to wider school life during the long-term placement.
