Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a Youth Worker to join a welcoming primary school in Bradley Stoke as a Behaviour Mentor. You’ll support Key Stage 2 pupils needing guidance with behaviour, emotional regulation and learning engagement.

You’ll be a trusted adult, building relationships, supporting learning, and helping young people overcome barriers to education within a supportive pastoral team.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Calm, resilient and positive approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence managing challenging behaviour positively.
• Genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
• Team player who leads with empathy and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils one-to-one and in small groups.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with children.
• Help pupils manage emotions and make positive choices.
• Encourage engagement with classroom learning and school life.
• Support children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
• Record progress and celebrate every success.
