Job summary

Protocol Education Limited in Bradley Stoke is seeking a Youth Worker to join a friendly primary school as a Behaviour Mentor, supporting Key Stage 2 pupils with behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement. You’ll work closely with teachers and the pastoral team to help children overcome barriers to learning, build confidence and form positive relationships in a calm, inclusive classroom.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• A calm, resilient and positive approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence managing challenging behaviour positively.
• A genuine passion for helping young people succeed.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils one-to-one and in small groups.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with children.
• Help pupils manage emotions and make positive choices.
• Encourage engagement with classroom learning and school life.
• Support SEMH needs and behavioural development.
• Promote positive behaviour with patience and empathy.
• Work with teachers, SEND staff and pastoral team.
• Record progress and celebrate successes.
• Create a safe, calm, inclusive learning environment.
