Job summary

Coventry City Council is recruiting an Attendance and Pastoral Support Lead for Sowe Valley Primary School in Coventry. The role focuses on improving wellbeing by supporting vulnerable children and removing barriers to learning.

You will work with families, governors, and external agencies, maintaining records and delivering targeted interventions to address SEMH needs. This post is part of the school’s safeguarding and inclusion strategy.

Qualifications

• Proven commitment to children's learning and wellbeing.
• Good communication, numeracy and literacy abilities.
• Experience of working with families and external agencies is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals and groups of children to meet academic, social and emotional needs.
• Engage with families and carers to support children's development.
• Monitor attendance and punctuality.
• Maintain detailed individual and group records.
• Use assessment tools to identify strengths and development areas.
• Attend meetings and report to senior leaders.
• Support children during unstructured times of the day.
• Deliver therapies and interventions to address SEMH needs.
