Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Primary LSA with phonics experience to support pupils in our partner primary schools in Wakefield and Bradford. You will work flexibly across day-to-day assignments, supporting whole classes, small groups and individuals to build reading, decoding and literacy skills.

The role offers exposure to varied school environments with potential pathways to long-term or permanent positions, and a dedicated consultant team to assist onboarding and ongoing work.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a primary school or similar setting.
• Experience delivering phonics activities and interventions.
• Strong communication skills with pupils and staff.
• Patient, flexible and adaptable approach.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom learning as well as individuals and small groups, using phonics to help pupils develop reading, decoding and literacy skills.
• Deliver or assist with phonics activities and interventions to raise attainment.
• Communicate effectively with pupils, teachers and parents to support learning outcomes.

We are looking for a Primary LSA with phonics experience for flexible day-to-day work, with opportunities for long-term and permanent positions becoming available within our schools. The successful Primary LSA will support classroom learning as well as individuals and small groups, using their knowledge of phonics to help pupils develop their reading, decoding and literacy skills.

The successful Primary LSA will have:

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
• Experience working with children within a primary school or similar setting
• Experience supporting or delivering phonics activities and interventions
• Confidence working with individuals and small groups
• Strong communication skills
• A patient, flexible and adaptable approach
