Job summary

Academics Ltd. are assisting a welcoming mainstream primary school in Stroud to recruit a Learning Support Assistant. The role involves supporting pupils with learning, confidence and development through one-to-one and small-group activities, and assisting the class teacher with engaging lessons.

We seek someone patient, proactive and reliable who enjoys working with children. DBS is required or willingness to apply for one; term-time hours apply, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm.

Qualifications

• Patient, approachable and enjoy helping children succeed.
• Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
• Experience with children is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with learning through one-to-one and small-group activities.
• Help children develop confidence, independence and social skills.
• Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons and activities.
• Adapt approaches to meet individual learning needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour and maintain a calm, inclusive classroom.
