Job summary

GSL Education Kent is recruiting a Primary Learning Mentor to support pupils in a welcoming Thanet primary school. You will work with children to raise literacy and numeracy, build confidence and positive learning behaviours.

The role suits experienced Learning Mentors, Teaching Assistants or graduates seeking classroom exposure. A strong safeguarding knowledge and enhanced DBS are required, with opportunities for accredited CPD.

Qualifications

• Experience with children in a primary school, educational or mentoring setting.
• Comfortable supporting pupils individually and in small groups.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and DBS checks required.
• Willingness to complete background checks and safeguarding training.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted academic and pastoral support to pupils.
• Develop literacy, numeracy, communication and social skills.
• Build positive relationships with children and staff.
• Create a positive rapport with pupils and provide consistent, encouraging support.
