Job summary

Aspire People are seeking a Maths & English Intervention Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional help in their primary school learning across Manchester and surrounding areas. The role involves delivering targeted learning activities in Maths and English, reinforcing core skills, and helping pupils access the wider curriculum.

Qualifications

• Recent UK-based school experience within the last 2 years.
• Experience supporting primary pupils in Maths/English.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Patient, adaptable teaching style.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions in Maths and English.
• Support pupils with number recognition, calculation, place value and problem-solving.
• Reinforce reading, spelling, grammar and writing.
• Help pupils understand instructions and work step by step.
• Adapt resources to suit different abilities and learning needs.
• Support pupils who have fallen behind expected learning levels.
• Encourage independent thinking and positive learning habits.
• Monitor progress and share observations with teaching staff.
• Support classroom learning when intervention sessions are not taking place.
