Primary Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with SEN experience

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary HLTA with SEN experience to join our vibrant primary schools in Gateshead. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the development and success of students with SEN, working alongside teaching staff to deliver high-quality education.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support classroom teachers in delivering SEN-focused teaching and learning at primary level.
• Lead small group activities and interventions to promote SEN student progress and achievement.
• Provide targeted support to students with additional needs, ensuring inclusive learning environments.
• Assist with planning, preparation, and assessment of lessons and materials.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a collaborative learning community.

Candidate Requirements:

• Experience working in a primary educational setting, preferably as a HLTA.
• Experience working with SEN pupils.
• Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to motivate and engage students.
• Proactive, adaptable, and committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
