Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is recruiting for a permanent Higher Level Teaching Assistant at Catcliffe Primary School. The role covers whole-class lessons, planning differentiated learning, and supporting SEND students, with a focus on pupil progress and staff guidance across year groups.

Qualifications

• Experience across key stage(s) of the primary curriculum is required.

Responsibilities

• Delivering cover lessons and whole-class teaching, including PPA cover and short-term teacher absence.
• Planning, preparing and delivering differentiated learning activities with class teachers.
• Supporting pupils' academic, social, emotional and behavioural development, individually or in groups.
• Helping pupils with SEND to access the curriculum.
• Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, giving feedback to teachers and contributing to reports.
• Managing learning resources, preparing classrooms and setting up learning environments.
• Sometimes supervising and guiding other support staff and TAs.
• Taking part in school-wide activities, meetings and ongoing professional development.
