Job summary

Reed Education is recruiting an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 in Croydon and Sutton, with potential opportunities across London and Surrey. You will lead lessons in the absence of the class teacher and support teachers to raise attainment.

You should hold an HLTA qualification or equivalent, have KS1/KS2 experience, strong behaviour management and the confidence to lead whole-class learning sessions with a proactive, flexible

Role: HLTA - KS1 & KS2
Pay Rate: £115 - £130 per day (dependent on experience)

Job Description

A supportive primary school in Croydon and Sutton is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This role involves leading lessons, supporting teachers, and delivering targeted interventions to help pupils achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 classes.
• Lead small-group interventions to raise attainment and accelerate progress.
• Assist with lesson planning and the preparation of learning resources.
• Provide feedback on pupil progress and attainment to teaching staff.

Requirements:

• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience working within Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• Confidence in leading whole-class learning sessions.
• A proactive and flexible approach to supporting teaching and learning.
