Job summary

Milk Education is partnering with a friendly primary school in Northumberland to appoint a Primary Classroom Assistant for a full-time role starting September 2026. You will support the class teacher, reinforce learning, and help pupils engage with activities to maximise their school day.

The ideal candidate will have experience with primary-aged children, strong communication and teamwork skills, and a patient, adaptable approach.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with primary-aged children is desirable.

Milk Education is working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Northumberland to appoint a Primary Classroom Assistant for a full-time position starting in September 2026.

You’ll work alongside the class teacher to support learning, encourage positive behaviour and help pupils get the most from their time in school.

Your Responsibilities

• Support pupils during lessons and classroom activities
• Work with individuals and small groups as directed by the teacher
• Assist with literacy, numeracy and curriculum-based activities
• Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials
• Encourage pupils to participate and develop independence
• Support positive behaviour and classroom routines
• Provide additional assistance to pupils who require it
