Job summary

Milk Education is working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Northumberland to appoint a Primary Classroom Assistant for a full-time position starting in September 2026. You'll work alongside the class teacher to support learning, encourage positive behaviour and help pupils get the most from their time in school.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with primary-aged children is desirable.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Able to work effectively as part of a school team.
• Patient and adaptable to different classroom environments.
• Passionate about helping children learn and develop.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils during lessons and classroom activities
• Work with individuals and small groups as directed by the teacher
• Assist with literacy, numeracy and curriculum-based activities
• Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials
• Encourage pupils to participate and develop independence
• Support positive behaviour and classroom routines
• Provide additional assistance to pupils who require it
