Job summary

North Preston Medical Practice in Preston is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to complement the Pharmacy Team and support medicines optimisation across two sites (Fulwood and Ingol). You will work under supervision to ensure safe and effective use of medicines within primary care.

The role focuses on patient-facing medicines support, reviews, reconciliation, and collaboration with the PCN Clinical Pharmacist to promote best practice and respond to national guidelines.

Qualifications

• Accredited Pharmacy Technician Course.
• Professional Registration with General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Evidence of continued professional development.
• CPPE preferable or working towards.
• Experience of working in General Practice.
• Experience of using EMIS Web.

Responsibilities

• Undertake patient facing and patient supporting roles to ensure effective medicines use.
• Carry out medicines optimisation tasks.
• Support medication reviews and medicines reconciliation.
• Support the PCN Clinical Pharmacist with PCN Workstreams.
• Manage shared care protocols and liaise with Clinical Pharmacists for more complex patients.
• Support initiatives for antimicrobial stewardship to reduce inappropriate antibiotic prescribing locally.
