Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a proactive Healthcare Assistant to support a GP practice in Southampton. You will perform routine clinical duties, help manage patient flow and contribute to high-quality care delivery.

This role suits an experienced HCA familiar with primary care settings, able to work ad-hoc or regular sessions, with strong communication and IT skills to document in the clinical system.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable performing clinical observations.
• Strong communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
