Job summary

Markel Group is seeking a Pricing Transformation Actuary to develop and enhance pricing models across Markel International, collaborating with underwriters and actuarial specialists to deliver pricing solutions that improve business decisions. The IPA team focuses on pricing transformation, data analytics, AI enablement and modernization of pricing platforms.

You’ll work on pricing frameworks, model enhancements and analytics, with exposure to HX and data-driven insights, expanding ownership of

Qualifications

• Experience developing, enhancing or supporting pricing models, ideally in insurance pricing or related analytical subject.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with pricing data.
• Proficiency in at least one coding language and ability to learn Python.
• Ability to engage effectively with underwriters and business partners.
• Clear communication skills to explain technical concepts plainly.
• Interest in AI, automation and modern analytical tooling.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deliver and maintain pricing frameworks for underwriting and portfolio decisions.
• Collaborate with actuaries and underwriters to translate pricing challenges into solutions.
• Own pricing models or components of the Pricing Transformation roadmap.
• Enhance pricing models on the Hyperexponential (HX) platform with supporting tools.
• Analyze pricing data and develop model analytics to evaluate performance and calibration.
