Job summary

Harnham in London is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to help build next‑generation pricing models using alternative data and machine learning. You will work on large, complex datasets to improve pricing accuracy and risk selection, deploying models with Azure ML and mentoring junior data scientists.

This role offers hybrid working with 2 days a week in the office, a competitive £70,000–£80,000 salary, and a £5,000 car allowance plus bonus.

Qualifications

• Experience building machine learning models.
• Strong Python skills.
• Experience developing predictive models within commercial environments.
• Experience working with large, complex datasets.
• Experience with cloud-based ML platforms (Azure ML preferred).
• The ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring or supporting more junior data scientists is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Building predictive machine learning models across large datasets.
• Developing pricing and customer selection models using alternative data.
• Exploring alternative data sources to improve pricing accuracy.
• Geospatial and footprint modelling.
• Residual and claims modelling.
• Deploying models using Azure Machine Learning.
• Mentoring junior team members and shaping best practice.
