Pricing Governance Manager

About QBE

At QBE, we get to the heart of what matters for our customers. And we do it all with a human touch.

We're an international insurer with more than 13,000 people working across 26 countries, which means we're big enough for your ambitions, yet small enough for you to make a real impact. It's an exciting time. We're building momentum towards our vision to become the most consistent and innovative risk partner.

What if you could have a positive impact, at work and in the world? As part of the QBE team, you'll get to spend every day working with people who are passionate, talented and kind.

Having the right to work in the UK is a requirement for this role. QBE may consider sponsorship at its discretion.

The opportunity

We're looking for a Pricing Governance Manager to join our Chief Underwriting Office on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is a newly created role that will play an important part in shaping and embedding pricing governance across QBE European Operations. Working with colleagues from Pricing & Data Science, Underwriting, Risk and Audit, you'll help ensure pricing activities are supported by effective governance, clear reporting and proportionate oversight.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing people together, coordinating activity across multiple teams and helping translate governance requirements into practical business outcomes. Whether your background is pricing, underwriting, governance or risk, you'll have the chance to build relationships across the business and contribute to an area that continues to evolve and grow.

Your new role

Reporting to the Senior Underwriting Standards Manager, you'll support the ongoing development of our pricing governance framework and help ensure governance activity remains aligned with business priorities, internal standards and regulatory requirements.

You’ll work with a wide range of stakeholders across the business, coordinating governance activities, supporting committee reporting and helping maintain visibility of key risks, actions and obligations. While you won't be responsible for technical pricing decisions, you'll play a key role in helping teams work together effectively and ensuring governance processes remain transparent, consistent and fit for purpose.

  • Support the development and continuous enhancement of the Pricing Governance Framework.
  • Maintain pricing governance policies, guidance, processes, supporting documentation and training materials.
  • Coordinate pricing governance reporting and management information for key governance forums and committees.
  • Monitor pricing governance activities, actions, risks and issues, helping ensure these are appropriately assessed, tracked, managed and reported.
  • Work with Pricing, Underwriting, Risk and Audit teams to promote a consistent approach to pricing governance.
  • Provide pricing governance advice and guidance to stakeholders across the business and attend governance forums, as required.
  • Undertake and support governance reviews, attestations and remediation activities, where required.
  • Help identify opportunities to simplify processes and enhance governance effectiveness.
  • Build positive relationships across multiple teams, encouraging collaboration and shared understanding.
  • Contribute to pricing governance planning and ongoing capability development.
About You

You’ll enjoy working with a broad range of stakeholders and be comfortable coordinating competing priorities across different teams. You're naturally organised, curious and collaborative, with the ability to take complex information and communicate it clearly and confidently to different audiences.

You may come from a pricing, underwriting, governance or risk background. Most importantly, you'll understand how effective governance supports informed decision-making and helps businesses operate confidently in a regulated environment.

Skills and experience you'll need
  • Experience working in insurance pricing, underwriting, governance or risk.
  • Knowledge of insurance pricing activities and frameworks, either through direct pricing experience or by working closely with pricing teams.
  • Ability to build effective relationships, work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, influence outcomes and challenge constructively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Comfortable interpreting information, identifying themes and supporting informed decision-making.
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and finding practical solutions.
  • Confidence working independently while remaining highly collaborative.
  • A degree and/or an equivalent professional qualification would be beneficial.
Benefits

We offer a range of benefits to help provide holistic support for your work life, whatever your circumstances. As a QBE employee you will have access to and benefit from:

  • 30 days holiday a year with the option to buy up to 2 additional days.
  • Flexible working - balancing work and life is important so our flexible working opportunities are open to all, this can include part-time, job share and compressed hours.
  • Pension – you are automatically enrolled into the QBE pension plan, which entitles you to receive employer contributions of 10% of your basic salary.
  • Private medical insurance – we fund fully comprehensive private medical cover for you and all the family.
  • Family friendly policies – we offer 26 weeks leave at full pay regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation or how you become a parent.
