Job summary

West Mercia Police is recruiting two constables to join the Regional PREVENT team as Prevent Case Officers, covering our North LPA policing area and processing referrals with case management duties.

Successful applicants will work alongside existing Officers in the South LPA, with extensive Force-wide travel across the West Midlands to support Prevent. The role requires planning, negotiation, strong communication, IT proficiency, and maintaining confidentiality and vetting clearance.

Qualifications

• Planning and organising skills, including the ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Ability to negotiate with and influence others.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships and partnerships with a wide range of organisations.
• IT literacy, Windows based applications including Microsoft Office, with good keyboard skills.
• Ability to operate with the utmost discretion and confidentiality and maintain the required SC/MV vetting clearance.

Responsibilities

• Process Prevent referrals and provide case management of individuals referred into the Prevent scheme.
• Travel extensively to support delivery of Prevent across the region.
• Collaborate with Regional PREVENT team and Counter Terrorism Policing WMCTU to meet priorities.
